An EU Digital Product Passport is a structured, machine-readable record tied to a physical product, holding its identity, material composition, substances of concern, sustainability and durability data, and end-of-life guidance across the product's life.

It applies to any product placed on the EU market regardless of where it is made, so every organization doing business in the EU - manufacturer, importer, or distributor - will need one for the categories it sells.
